2008 Application

Warning: If you leave this application form and go to another website, you will lose whatever you have already filled out on this form. If you don't want to stay online the whole time you are filling it out, download a Word document version of the application, or simply copy and paste the questions from this text-only version into your web browser.

If you have any questions, please contact Kiritapu Allan kiritapuallan@hotmail.com or Tiffany Brown in the USA at 831-334-1873, or tiffany@yesworld.org.

We will be reviewing applications March 1, March 15, April 1 and April 15. The sooner an application is received, the better its chances of acceptance. If you are receiving this information after April 15, please contact us to learn if there are any spaces available.

Please note that if you are accepted, your name and bio will be shared with the other participants of your Jam just prior to the event. Following the Jam, we will put this information up on our website so that you can participate in the alumni community, unless you request otherwise. More info on this is below.

Where and Who You Are

Look below box for more detail on each question.

What got you engaged in making a difference, and what are you up to now?

What are you passionate about?

An important aspect of the Jam is bridge-building (between movements, issues, cultural backgrounds, faiths, sexual orientations, etc.). Why is this relevant to your work and/or important to you personally at this time? How and when is bridge-building challenging for you? In what conditions has it worked well for you?

How do you see its philosophy, principles and goals as relevant to the world today, or to your life and work?

Please share with us a mini-bio, of about 1 paragraph in length, that talks about your life and work and accomplishments. If you are accepted to the Jam, we want to be able to promote you and link you to others in the Jam community, potential funders, and other possible allies. Check out how some of our past alumni have been described in their mini-bios on this site.

Travel and Tuition

We are committed to raising the funds necessary to enable the participants we select to attend the Jam. However, it is vital to our ability to create this event that those who can, pay as much as they are able.
Please check with a travel agent on the current cost of a ticket for you to come to the Jam in Cusco, Peru (or into Lima and we can arrange an additional flight to Cusco separately). Travelers coming from Asia, Europe, Africa or Oceania please also check the most economical gateway city, seeing how the price changes if you route through any of the following options: Sao Paulo (Brazil), Caracas (Venezuela), Miami, Atlanta, Dallas and/or Los Angeles (USA),

If you believe you may be able to pay the full costs of tuition for your participation in the jam, or are interested in offering a donation to support others’ participation, please let us know and we can discuss the specifics.
