Teanau is a Maori activist working for Maori Tino Rangatiratanga (indigenous self determination). Teanu is qualified as a lawyer but chose to reject the profession because of corruption he witnessed. Teanau has been organizing for a better world since the age of 19. He is involved with a number of projects, the advocacy group Te Kewau Maro, Education and Action Group (AE!) and the Indy Media network
