Location: Rechovot
Bio:
Sharon’s extensive background in activism stems from her teenage years. Initially concerned with a variety of issues internal to Israel, she became dedicated to Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking following the assassination of Prime Minster Yitzak Rabin. Currently Sharon is Assistant to the Directors and Manager of Peacemaking Projects for Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information (www.ipcri.org). Founded in 1988, this non-profit is a cooperative Israeli/Palestinian public policy think-tank. Organizational goals focus on public policy development aiming to advance peace and create sustainable mechanisms for ongoing cooperation between the two states and within the region as a whole. She is also undergoing group facilitation training, specializing in Palestinian-Israeli encounters, through the Neve Shalom Peace School, and volunteering with Beselem, a human rights monitoring project in the West Bank and Gaza.
"For me, the Jam was a healing process. I will carry the smiles, the laughter, the songs and the music through the challenging times that will inevitably come. Each person in the Jam touched my soul in the most profound ways imaginable."
