Bio:
Daniel Carr is a young man who wishes to leave a better worldfor the children. Last year he was the lead coordinator of a teen youth organization that empowered young people through positive community action and social change work. He helped start a community garden and was the lead organizer of a 3-day environmental and social justice conference for high school students. Currently he is going to a wilderness school in Duvall, Washington to learn from nature how to be a caretaker of the earth and a mentor.
"Seeing so many peers struggling with tough questions and sharing their stories and passions helped me commit to taking a stand for my deepest values. The Jam lit a fire in me, which I carry proudly into the world. It is the fire of community, of justice, of love and hope. I’ve gained insights into what it’s really going to take to build a world that we will be proud to give our children. The Jam invited me to commit all of my love and passion to building this world and provided the support to carry out this vision.— Daniel Carr, 21, Ashland, OR YES! inspired and motivated me to constantly mine my mistakes for the golden lessons they contain. I saw that love, courage, and community will save this world and that we who are working, living for the restoration of life must embody this in the way we interact with each other. I took home increased self-confidence, a higher commitment to life, and many new friends who have awakened my heart to new levels of compassion and caring, I feel supported and encouraged to do the work that I’ve been called to do. I will carry the experience as a gift to all I have the honor of working with in my life."
