In 1996, Billy was the youngest person to be named a "Visionary" by Utne Reader. Billy is cofounder of Active Element Foundation (www.activelement.org), Adventure Philanthropy (www.adventurephilanthropy.org), Reciprocity (www.creatingreciprocity.org) and the Self Education Foundation (www.selfeducation.org). Billy is a journalist, lecturer, and author of two books which have received much praise and respect in activist communities
