1996 World Jam

This was the first ever annual World Jam. It was held in July during the summer Olympics, in the serene Santa Cruz Mountains.  Despite the potential media distraction, YES! attracted CNN, CBS, PBS, and numerous magazines, newspapers, and Radio Stations.  In attendance were 40 leading youth activists, representing 20 countries, and six continents.Celebrities and guest speakers included Adam Youch of the Beastie Boys, and David Brower, Founder of Friends of the Earth, and Earth Island Institute.
