New Green For All $1000 Contest! The Dream Reborn Continues

by tiffany

Green For All  is releasing a new song and music video by our Green For All College Ambassador, Markese Bryant to honor Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday.  "The Dream Reborn: My President is Green" is a call to action for the Hip-Hop generation to carry forward Dr. King's vision toward a more just and equitable future. We are using this launch to announce The Dream Reborn Story Competition.

The hook of the song is a chant that says: “It’s time to go green/We got to go green/The food ain’t fresh and the air ain’t clean/From the hood to the burbs, everybody go scream/Dr. King, we’ve living your dream/My president is Black, but he’s going green/I got my president back, I’m going do the same thing!”

The song, video and story of Markese's journey from the streets of East Oakland to the halls of Dr. King's alma mater,  Morehouse College shows how young leaders of today are finding new hope and opportunity through green jobs.  This exciting, new video is a potent tool for telling the story of need and promise in the green economy.

Green For All wants to get the video in the hands of thousands of people! Please check it out, and pass it around to your networks (think facebook, twitter, myspace, your website, email lists etc.). This month-long, multi-media competition is detailed below.  Please tell everyone you know that we are looking for submissions and offering a $1,000 first prize. Please let us know when you post this to our contacts.

Thank you so much for your help with getting out this music video and publicizing the competition, please feel free to use the video any way you see fit as well, and don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
