YES! a Santa Cruz based non-profit organization that connects, inspires and collaborates with young changemakers in building thriving, just and sustainable ways of life for all, is seeking to hire or provide field study credit for Intern(s), immediately. Interns will work with the Operations Manager to provide support within Operations, Development and Programs at our Santa Cruz home office. We are offering 10+ hours per week internships with a commitment of at least 3 months and will provide a monthly stipend of $300.  www.yesworld.org

Intern Job Description

Operational Support

  • Field daily general organization inquiries via email and telephone
  • Database updates
  • Ship, track and database all product sales within a timely manner and be in communication with clients to ensure orders are received.
  • Take notes for staff meetings, retreats and board meetings when your schedule permits.
  • Stuff, seal, stamp and mail letters to our supporters during our spring and fall mailings.
  • Run basic errands for local supplies

Development Support

  • Attend local house parties for on-site logistical support and provide support during the pre/post coordination of house parties.
  • Make phone calls inviting participants to attend events

Programmatic Support

  • Attend monthly Community Alliances Initiative (CAI) gatherings, not mandatory, but welcomed.
  • Attend local YES! events for on-site logistical support and provide support during the pre/post coordination of YES! events (i.e. workshops, CAI gatherings, etc).
  • Certain seasonal tasks will include typing up notes from alumni, helping with various jams, creating listserves for our participants, supporting international calls, etc.
  • Help to organize, and participate as schedule allows, in local workshops and events.

Ongoing Contact with Workers and Office Environment

  • Foster and maintain clear, consistent, affective and mutually supportive ongoing communication with fellow staff members. Don’t let issues, concerns, etc. build up that might affect your level of productivity or the fulfillment you derive from your work.
  • Share appreciations as well as concerns.
  • Ask co-workers questions freely and frequently.
  • Keep track of and give general reports on your time usage and how things are going so our Operations Manager has accurate feedback as well as the benefit of your experiences.
  • Greet guests and visitors warmly
