A Letter from Staff

Dear Friends,

May you all be thriving and stepping into your life in a way that feels right and good.  There has been a sweet and steady (and sometimes, intense) hum of activity and movement here at YES!.  Thank you for your partnership and we hope this blog gives you a sense of how your support sends positive ripples into the world.

These last few months have included the Leveraging Privilege for Social Change Jam, Global Collaborative Meeting and Day of Engagement, and Program Committee Gathering just to name a few major YES! happenings.  Alongside that, the organization has been evolving in significant ways:  exploring a co-director arrangement within a collaborative staff structure, creatively resourcing our budget and doing more with less, and examining our relationship to age and its relevance to our mission.

We also want to recognize the beautiful work happening on local, regional and global levels with many of our allies.  Julie, our National Community Coordinator, was part of the organizing collective for the four day Santa Cruz Anarchist Convergence last May, featuring more than 40 workshops for 500+ activists and community organizers.  And Yoni Landau, who joined us at the Day of Engagement, is part of the Berkeley Student Food Co-op which is actioning for more fresh, healthy and affordable food on campus.  Finally, Jam alumni Augusto Cuginotti and Filiz Telek, convened at the Butterfly Connection, a space for reflection and transformation, in June at Mt. Pelion, Greece.  You can get more details by linking directly to these stories by clicking the links above.

We are experiencing a powerful broad-based movement that is responding to the social, environmental and economic challenges at hand.  It is a movement held by the multitude of people around this planet who are committed to our common values of equality, peace, and justice.  They are people who understand that internal, interpersonal and collective change are inseparably woven together.  YES! is honored and privileged to do our work, connecting with people and in a movement that carries so much spirit and integrity.

Thank you again for supporting YES!,

Ocean, Tiffany, Lorin, Romy, Nga, and Julie
